Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult|Jodi Picoult

Insightful, Dramatic, Interesting
A boy who is bullied all his life seeks revenge by shooting students at his high school.

What makes the book interesting is the detailed character development of each person in the story. Each person is humanized with both sympathetic traits and flaws so it makes it difficult to make a cut and dry judgment about them and that includes the shooter. Book groups who have read "The Pact" by Jodi Picoult will enjoy comparing and contrasting this book to that one. A couple characters overlap and the story is set in a small New England town.
